Receipt Expense Snap Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 5, 2026
English
Receipt Expense Snap (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) helps users capture, review, organize, and export receipt records.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the app may access, how that information is used, and what choices you have.
The app may access the following information or device capabilities when you choose to use related features:
- Camera access, so you can take photos of receipts.
- Photo library access, so you can import receipt images from your device.
- Photo library add access, so you can save exported results to your device when you choose to do so.
- Receipt images you import or capture.
- Receipt fields recognized from images, such as merchant, date, amount, category, and notes you edit or enter.
- Local subscription state made available through Apple in connection with in-app purchases or restore purchases.
The app uses the above information to:
- Capture or import receipt images.
- Recognize receipt content and extract key fields for your review.
- Let you edit, save, browse, and export receipt records.
- Cache receipt images locally on your device to improve viewing and history access.
- Support subscription status checks, purchases, and restore-purchase flows on your device.
3. On-Device Processing and Storage
Based on the current version of the app:
- Receipt recognition is performed on-device through the app’s integrated OCR capabilities.
- Saved receipt records and cached receipt images are stored locally on your device.
- Cached receipt images are managed with retention limits, currently up to approximately 3 months and up to 1 GB of cached image storage.
- Exported files are generated locally on your device before you choose whether to share or save them.
4. Data Sharing
We do not operate a user account system for this app in the current version, and the app is designed to work without uploading your receipt content to our own business servers as part of the core flow described in the app.
Your data may still be handled by platform providers when you use platform features, for example:
- Apple, when you use camera, photo library, App Store purchase, or restore-purchase features.
- Google ML Kit or related on-device libraries integrated into the app for text recognition.
- The system share sheet, if you choose to share an exported file through another app or service on your device.
Please also review the privacy practices of Apple and any third-party apps or services you use when sharing exported content.
5. Data Retention
Receipt records and related cached files remain on your device unless:
- You delete individual receipt records.
- The app clears cached receipt images according to its retention and storage limits.
- You remove the app or clear its local data through your device.
6. Your Choices
You may:
- Deny camera or photo permissions, though some features will not work without them.
- Delete receipt records you previously saved.
- Avoid using export or sharing features if you do not want files to leave the app.
- Manage or revoke permissions in your device settings.
7. Children’s Privacy
Receipt Expense Snap is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly design the service to collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the date at the top of this page and publish the revised version.
